Inverclyde Culture Collective is made up of five different organisations across Inverclyde, who are delivering their own diverse programmes of activity through the Culture Collective project, as well as also supporting the other artists working across the network.

Who are RIG Arts?

We design and deliver a dynamic programme of visual arts & film projects, workshops, exhibitions, public artworks, community spaces and events. We use creativity to work with people to affect change in Urban Regeneration, Climate Challenge, Heritage, Mental Health also helping young people with Autism to build better social & communication skills.

RIG Arts are passionate about using creativity and innovation to influence change and to  make a positive difference in people’s lives and their environments.


Can you tell us about the activity you are currently delivering as part of Inverclyde Culture Collective?

Creativity in Mind - A pilot arts mental health project for adults in Inverclyde, using creativity as a means of self- expression to support recovery, manage symptoms, and build self-esteem. 

Open Studio - builds upon the summer open studio opportunity from 2018 when RIG Arts handed their studio to young people in Inverclyde and invited them to come in and be creative utilising RIG’s space and materials 

Inside Out – building on the success of the ‘Up the Broomy’ Broomhill project – Rig will explore the connection between community green spaces and mental health recovery with weekly intergenerational workshops focusing on the creative regeneration of community green spaces of the Auchmountain Glen area



What is The Beacon?

The Beacon, is a contemporary theatre and arts venue in the heart of Inverclyde… and a whole lot more besides. We offer a safe and inspiring place to escape into a different world for a while; a place to connect and share new experiences through shows and activities that inspire and delight, sometimes challenge, and always entertain.



Can you tell us the activity you are currently delivering as part of Inverclyde Culture Collective?

We are delivering on a new art group for Adults (16+ in Inverclyde with artist Beth Shapeero it’s free, inclusive and friendly! allowing people to learn techniques in painting, printmaking, photography, viewing art, abstract art, printing on fabric, sculpture, designing exhibitions and more. Absolutely no art experience necessary. Complete beginners very welcome.

What is Kayos Youth Theatre

Kayos or Inverclyde Youth Theatre  as it sometimes called is an Amateur Youth Theatre group based in Greenock with members from all over the Inverclyde area. There are three sub groups within Kayos; Kayos for 15-21 years of age, Total Kayos for 9 – 14 years olds and Absolute Kayos which is for 5 – 8 year olds. The groups meet weekly in the Central Greenock area and regularly stage performances at Inverclyde biggest arts venues.

The aim of Kayos is to advance the education of young people between the ages of 5 and 21 years(inclusive) who have an interest in the performing arts by  the provision of a permanent youth theatre organisation to develop skills and confidence in young people. 


Can you tell us the activity you are currently delivering as part of Inverclyde Culture Collective?

We will be working with leading outdoor/ street theatre company Surge to develop our members skills in clowning puppetry and street performance through a series of workshop and the creation of some tester performances.



What is CVS Inverclyde?

CVS Inverclyde supports and represents the third sector within Inverclyde. We work to support organisations to achieve their aims by working with them to help them overcome barriers and plan their future development. We support organisations to attract funding, manage their finances, engage with public sector partners, meet their legal requirements, have a positive approach to equalities and take their communities and people with them.
